To all those Long Suffering Individuals hoping to find something new

We are Stuck in paradise, aka Perhentian Island

For those who are interested, things here are: in the wise words of Aristotle, “Same, same but the still same”. The dive season here has begun and the diving is rocking. We still go diving everyday and startPADI diving courses nearly everyday.Sunrise on Long Beach, Perhentian Kecil

Our prices are much the same too. Many an unbiased diver has noted that Perhentian offers the best value diving in South East Asia. We even offer aguarantee.

The diving is as good as ever. We still have lots of turtles, stingrays, bumphead parrotfishs as well as the usual colourful reef fish on our scuba diving trips . We organise regular diving trips to Redang Island. Those trips are always fun. We welcome Divers from – TDI, SDI, NAUI, SSI, CMAS, BSAC, FFESSM, IANTD,

We now have 3 more wrecks to dive at Perhentian. Both are bigger ships (70m long or more). The first is the Sugar Wreck, an easy dive on a 3500 tonne ship.the second a New wreck called Police wreck ,3 boats at a depth of 18m. The third is The Secret Wreck, a more tricky dive on an old freighter down at 38m. Suitable for more experienced divers and for those qualified to dive with Enriched Air (NITROX). For those who want to learn we offer the PADI Enriched Air Diver course which qualifies divers to dive with gas blends up to 40% oxygen.

Dive season is from Mid March till End October 2014 ..

We expect good weather in early March and will be fully operational by Mid March. Dive conditions will further improve from april onwards and we are looking forward to a good season this year. No particular month has the best condition for diving, but July and August are the most busy months. We are less busy in September and October . We will be open for diving till end of October as the north-east monsoon has been delayed over recent years and will start by end December this year.

The water temperature is consistently warm 30`C so wetsuits are not essential. A 3mm shortie or rash vest with board shorts will provide sufficient comfort.

Divers must furnish some proof of diving certification. Open Water Diver certification is perfectly adequate for most dives. Those who wish to dive deeper than 18 metres or at night must have the equivalent of the PADI advance diver certification.

A medical questionaire must be completed before starting any course. A single “yes” answer will require you to be examined by a doctor to ensure that you are medicallly fit to dive. It is advisable to review this form before arriving on Perhentian as there is no doctor on the island.
